Becky Cumbaa, BS, RYT 200

YOGA INSTRUCTOR

Certification/ Degree: 200 hour registered Yoga teacher through the Vida Asana School of Yoga. BS- Recreation, Parks and Tourism with an emphasis in Natural Resource Management from the University of Florida.

Experience: New to teaching yoga around town. I gained the majority of my experience through dance and yoga classes growing up. I taught my first class in Costa Rica and now I am excited to be teaching in Gainesville!

Philosophy/ Practice: Bhakti Yoga is the yoga of devotion. It helps to harmonize the mind with the Self or Soul. My personal philosophy is: we can’t heal if we don’t feel.

Hobbies: cooking and hanging with my pup, Prince. Practicing yoga is essential for me to feel my best.

Education: University of Florida – BSME (Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering) 

Experience: I moved to Gainesville in 2016 to pursue a degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Florida. While pursuing my degree, I spent most of my free time weightlifting and playing sports which sparked a passion for health and fitness. I have been a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) practitioner since June of 2020 and have since developed a love for the sport. I have hopes of one day opening my own Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu gym. While pursuing my black belt in BJJ, I intend to continue my journey in the health and fitness industry by becoming the best personal trainer I can be. 

Training Specializations: Currently Studying for NASM – PES (Performance Enhancement Specialization) 

Hobbies/Special Interests: Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (Blue Belt)
